Relocating to a hot country... taking dog with us!

Hi, I wondered if there is anyone on here who has relocated from the UK to another, hotter country, and taken their dog with them?

My OH has got a new job in Gibraltar, so we are relocating! Me, OH, LO and Alfie our Deerhound!.... I know the rules of going in to the country with a dog but I was just wondering if anyone has experience on taking a dog who is used to the UK weather to a hotter country?

There is absolutely no way I will rehome Alfie! He is my 1st born!! I have even told my OH that unless Alfie comes with us we will not be going

He'll adjust just fine. .. I'd get his coat stripped before he arrives


I run a rescue and alot of our adopted dogs have relocated ..

Will you need to put him in quarantine for 6 mths ?

Thanks Skye, good idea about stripping. We've never done that to him not even his ears which is common for the breed so it'll be interesting!

No he won't have to go in to quaranteen, he's been having his rabies jab for the past 3 years and Gib has the same rules as UK x
