Hello c-section ladies!..Sort of popping my head around the corner:blush:

I had my c-section 5 days ago now..And its still pretty agonising to walk around!, even so i have to get it really slowly and i still ache!:nope:..But im not here to moan!:nope:

The midwife is coming today to check on me and Sebastian, and of course check my dressings on my scar..I was told to remove them but the pain is just too much!..Ive tried everything to try and get it off myself..Even going in the shower and soaking it in water still wont get it to move!.., even OH tried but i was pushing him away as it just hurt too much!

Anyone here left it to the midwife to take off, and does it hurt when it comes off?..I have a feeling my baby hormones are gonna make me cry like a bitch (pardon my french):haha:

Thanks ladies :flower:

I took my off really easy as my doctor used the taping that doesn't stick! I would probably just wait for the midwife to help, maybe she will have trick to ease the pain!

The midwife took mine off in hospital and it did hurt but she did it very quickly and it only hurt for about a second. The anticipation is probably worse!

I took mine off in the shower on day 2 and went on to use dry dressing. It wasn't painful at all. I think it depends with the type which was used.

I also had mine taken off on day 2 in hospital in the shower. I had to soak in it for a while though. Not sure what to say but good luck.

Wat kind of dressing is it? Why is she changing it, is it infected?! I took my dressings off myself both times around day 5 in the bath soak it through and it just peels off. I wonder if yours is a different dressing for it to be painful?

The staples being removed did bring tears to my eyes though!

I took my own dressing off the day after my section in hospital and didn't have another dressing put on. For me the catheter being taken out was much more uncomfortable. Try pulling the skin tight where your peeling the dressing off and then slowly go round peeling towards the centre around the outside of it. It's not a pleasant experience but the thought of doing it is worse then it actually is. Good luck

perhaps it differs in each country but i just had a tape on mine and it was taken off on day four by the OB and it did not hurt at all so do not worry :D
the most painful things were those injections into your tummy they give you to stop deep vein thrombosis :/
