Rent problems :(

Waiting for a callback from our lettings agent to find out whether a) we can stay in our house after February, and b) whether the rent is going up if we can.

I was really cool, calm and collected last time I rang them, I told them that although we were interested that we had other options, and would wait to hear the new rent agreement before making any decisions.. they said they'd get back to me once they'd spoken to my landlord.. that was a MONTH ago and Christmas Day is the latest we can confirm our interest in staying. (Oh and of course they're closed from the 24th lol)

So I rang them this morning and tried to sound calm and nonplussed but I'm sure I came across as the nervous wreck that I am. They said they'd ask my 'property manager' to call me about extending my contract and as she hung up she said "So I'll let them know that you're interested but would like to confirm the rent" ... Argh! I've been trying to not sound too interested and I appear to have failed!

Such a stressful morning, I think they're evil for making Christmas stressful

Why wouldn't you want them to know you are interested in staying? Surely if they know you are interested and have been good tenants then they'd want to do anything they could to make you stay anyway
