replacement for Smoked Salmon?

for some smoked salmon!!!

Has anyone else had this craving and found a good substitute for it? I've been all over the internet in desperation but no luck. There seems to be no way to eat it

What about freezing & thawing it? Would that help kill bacteria?

Smoking kills the parasite that can be found in raw fish. Smoked salmon is ok according to the National Health Service.

Just have some! A little bit is ok, just make sure its from a reputable supplier/restaurant.

So I just realized I've been putting cold deli meats on my bagels and that has just as much risk as the salmon does for listeria...

Starting to think I'm going to say f-it to the warnings that aren't about high mercury levels!

Haha! I've got a limited food selection as I am coeliac (no gluten) and I don't eat meat so as far as I'm concerned smoked salmon is on the menu. As Beacy Bronzer says, just check its a reputable supplier enjoy!

Cook it! I had some the other day but I heated it through til steaming. You still get that smokey taste, but different.

Coeliac! No! You poor thing how long have you been diagnosed for? I was falsely diagnosed for a little over a week and it was the hardest week of my life!

I'm doing a little more research then I might head out to the grocery store I just can't help this craving! It's been here for weeks. I'm also rationalizing that listeria is a big deal and when there are outbreaks, there are recalls, and what is the chance that I'm the one who gets the first confirmed case of listeria? or at least that's how i'm rationalizing it! lol

I know what you mean about sushi...i've been trying to stick to cooked rolls but it's hard to find some that compare. As soon as this baby's out I'm going on a raw foods diet!

that's what I've done! the only thing I'm not eating is raw egg and keeping within the tuna limits.

OMG gigglebox and MaybeP! I want one too!! I haven't had a Bagel with cream cheese and smoked salmon in ages! How could I forget the combo of smooth and cool, smokey and crispy?! WANT! No way is my OH going out now though especially as he is cooking and we are having pork chops and chips. /me cries a lil.
