Hubby and I have finally decided on names but we are stuck with two choices.
They are:
Robert William John
Patrick William John
John has always been the middle name from the start as it dates back to the 1600's for the first born male in hubby's family.
William was chosen because it was one of his Grandad's names (his Mum's Dad) and he passed away when I was 20+1. His other names were Thomas which I really don't like and John which we are already using but we wanted something specific to him.
I am not particularly fond of either of these names (to be blunt I would never chose them in a million years if it were not for hubby) so we agreed he would have an additional name.
I can't chose between Robert and Patrick.
Robert was my Grandad's name. He died when I was four and was very close to my Mum whom died when I was 22. It's a way to remember her in our child's name and it would make my Grandmother happy. In terms of parents/grandparents I only have my Nanna and Dad and my Dad has requested we don't use his name (which was the original choice) and I want to respect his wishes.
Patrick was chosen because we lived in Ireland for almost four years, he was conceived there with the help of fertility specialists and we both adore the country but moved back because we want Little Man to grow up knowing who his family is and close to my niece (who will be two 12 days after his due date). Naming him Patrick represents a part of my life that I will never forget.
I like both names a lot and so does my husband.
Any input, suggestions etc would be greatly appreciated. Especially if they help me make a decision. I say 'me' instead of 'we' as hubby has told me I can make the decision as I am letting him 'have his way' by putting William in the name.
Thanks.
