My DD is 22 weeks (5 months). She rolled over front to back twice at 17 weeks and once back to front at 18 weeks. Since then she has not rolled over either way by herself. She reaches round and rolls onto her side but never all the way over.

I have tried to encourage her with toys etc and have helped her roll over the final bit occasionally. She also has tummy time daily and seems to enjoy it but doesn't really roll in this position (the time she did roll was on her changing mat when I had put her on her front so I could fasten some buttons on her back!) She does bring her knees underneath her and try to push off like she is trying to crawl though.

Should I be worried she doesn't seem to roll over or is it something that will come in time? Does anyone have any suggestions on any encouragements I could give her to get her rolling regularly?

Really don't worry!!!

My LO is almost 8 months and STILL doesn't roll. She rolled 3 times from front to back when she was around 5 and half months, but not since. This evening she almost rolled back to front but couldn't do it.

I know how easy it is to worry, but please don't :flower:

My DD first rolled back to front at 13 weeks, did it a few times and then didnt do it again for literally months. She also only rolled front to back after she could crawl. Go figure! I honestly wouldn't worry. DD crawled, pulled up to standing and cruised at 8 months and she HATED tummy time.

Don't worry about it. Mine never rolled even once until last week (nearly 7 months), and even so our doctor wasn't worried at 6 months when he never had. Yours has done it before so you know she can. Some babies just aren't that interested in rolling, and that's fine.

Oh, I'm so glad yu made this post cause I was about to!!

My lo rolled from front to back a few weeks ago and has done a few times since but not daily. I asked my mom and she said its quite normal for babies to do something and then take a while to master the skill.

My son was like this. He first rolled over at about four months and then didn't do it again for weeks. Tbh he was never that interested in rolling over until he learned to crawl, then he would roll onto his front straight away to get into crawl position.

He sits well, crawls at speed and cruises confidently (he's 11 months)- he just wasn't into rolling.

I wouldn't worry about it.

My friend's 18 month old never rolled; not even once. He was crawling at 6 months and walking at 9 months :)

My lo rolls over when SHE wants too. She still wont do it for her daddy. I think she get's performance anxiety :haha:

My lo can roll front to back, but rarely does. I'm sure she can roll back to front, however shed much rather lean round on her side! I'm not worried. She doesn't like being on her tummy so why would she want to roll onto it?! xx

my lo rolled for the first time today, she is 4 months, from back to front, but she was on the sofa and fell off :( she wont want to roll ever again im sure....bad parent of the day award goes to me!

Mine too!!! He's 5 and a half months and did it two weeks ago but not since !!

Hi, I was in the same boat as u where my LO rolled once on his own around 5 months then couldnt seem to do it again even with me encouraging him. I was beginning to wonder until last week! A week before he turned 6 months old he suddenly started rolling both ways all the time!! He literally woke up one day and started doing it!! He also has started sitting up for a minute or so unaided too!!
