Roman? for a girl?

it may sound strange but i think its kinda cool. in a quirky way.
i know its a predominantly male name but i was watching the miley cyrus film the last song earlier and i wasnt listening properly at first and thought mileys character was called roman, and her characteristics and image really suited it.
then of course i found out her characters name was actually veronica ronnie for short.
its not going to be on our name choice list as we've settled on names and we love them its just it got me thinking and thought i might see what others thought of it for a girl.
with a nice feminine middle name i think it would really go. xx

Romana is my name but for short i use rome
everyone always says romana is such a pretty name

Yes, Romana is of Latin origin. Romanus - a Roman man; Romana - a Roman woman.

i think that both Romana and Roman are great girls names, I always wondered if Rome was your full name Quintinsmommy lol

My daughters name is Romany - although we pronounce it with the o as in dog.
