Experiences please. We're your babies fine?, and did anyone in your family catch it from dirty nappies?

My son's just been jabbed and I'm terrified.

My son did get it. I was paranoid about it too. My DD and I both had a bit of an upset tummy after it but nothing bad. I was super careful about washing hands etc. It transpired later that dd had still been kissing her brother on the lips despite being told not to. The baby was fine xx

DD didn't have issues with that vaccine (or any of her vaccines); she was back to her normal happy self after going home and taking a nap. No one caught it either. :flower:

Thank you. Still terrified though, lol. Fingers crossed he stays well.

I've had 2 babies before - and nobody ever told me you could catch it. Don't recall any issues...We'll see this time.

Well that's good. I'm concerned about my daughter too as she's never had a tummy bug.

I don't really understand why they vaccinate against something that can be caught from the vaccine? I was puzzled by it at the time when the nurse told me I had to be very careful with nappies. nobody caught it, I was very OCD about handwashing for two weeks afterwards as advised. My daughter was rather unsettled with a lot of bad wind but that was more after the second dose than the first.

My daughter had a bit of a grumbly tummy for about 10 days and slightly more offensive nappies but otherwise totally fine.

Nobody caught it in our family. I just took normal care after changing nappies (ie handwashing) but I was in no way paranoid about it, and certainly didn't stop anything like kissing.

My 8 month old had no side effects at all. My now 3 year old caught rotavirus at 11 weeks old and was hospitalised. He was very very poorly, so its worth the little upset it may cause to avoid that xx

My lb was fine for the first but we had the second 2 weeks ago he has had diarrhoea since day 4 after it and 3 days ago it turned really green he's fine in himself I took him to the doctors yesterday and doc said she defiantly thought it was from the vaccine and to give hin another week as he's really well in himself. No body else had caught it. Xx

My little boy has actually had rotavirus itself (picked up in stool sample) and we didn't know do didn't take extra precautions. We didn't catch it. He was fine too, just belly ache and some nasty smelling diarrhoea

My son didn't have it, it wasn't out then. He was nearly hospitalised with d&v as a baby so I made sure my daughter got the vaccine. I too was terrified as I have a bad phobia of being sick. We didn't catch it and she had no side effects x

My guy was pretty miserable after the rotavirus vaccine, although he had an oral one, diarrhea and gas for awhile after
