Round 1 Clomid Mid cycle

I have been ttc for 2 years. Was diagnosed PCOS, although no cysts and only abnormal test was that I had a high DHEAS level.. I just had a period a week ago, but doctor insists on trying 50 mg clomid for 5 days starting today (CD9) anyone ever hear of such a thing? This is my first time taking clomid..

That does sound quite late. The latest I've heard is CD7?

I've always heard CD3-7 or 5-9. But hey, couldn't hurt right?

Seems late to me as well, but I've only taken it CD4-8 (rounds 1-3) and CD3-7 (round 4). Do you ovulate regularly? Do you know what day in your cycle you ovulate? If you don't normally ovulate CD14 it might not really be late.
