Today I saw yet another midwife, haven't seen the same one twice yet, she wasn't very friendly and just seem to rush through things. I had a list of things I wanted to talk about but didn't get round to it cause I felt so rushed.

Anyway I've been having a lot of pressure down low in my pelvic area and back for a few days now, I also keep getting sharp shooting pains down below, they don't last long, maybe 10-15 seconds but they come and go a lot through out the day. When I asked the midwife today she checked my urine age said it was fine so I don't have an infection it must be ligament pain. Now I've had it a few times through out this pregnancy, this just feels different. It's a heavy feeling and my back kills when I stand up. I tried to explain it felt different to the midwife but she wasn't having any of it. "What would I know since it's my first" that kind of attitude.

My round ligament pain isn't like that this is my third baby and I've had it each time mine is literally shooting pains low down either side of my pelvis upto my bump or in the pubic bone area sometimes my pelvis aches and I sometimes get aches in my back it's not pressure
Can you ask your gp if your concerned ?

To be honest I think I may have some sort of infection down there. I can't get to see the doctor till Monday though :( and I don't think it's severe enough to go to the hospital. The midwife just told me to rest. I'm sick of resting it seems that's all I've done this pregnancy.

it doesnt sound like round ligament pain~ thats more like a snapping feeling, like a rubber band. like when you sneeze.

but I have the pressure feeling you are describing every once and a while. it hurts but lasts only a little bit!

How longs a little bit? I've had it for about 3-4 days now. I did do a lot of housework on Monday though and then had family round on Tuesday with small children, perhaps I over did it?

On the plus side little lady is bouncing around in there, she seems happy enough so I'm not you concerned it's just uncomfortable.

I used to get the pressure all through my last pregnancy so I wouldn't worry about that. But the pain is concerning cuz that doesn't sound like round ligament pain. I think you may be right with the infection thing. Have that doctor double check monday. If it gets worse then call an emergency hotline for pregnancy or your midwife. Best of luck to you!! :) hope all is well

Thank you all. Today the pressure has eased, maybe she was just low down. I did lose a little bit of plug earlier though. I'm just going to rest for a few days till I see the doctor on Monday.

Thanks again

Perfectly normal as well! I lost plug for the last 15w of pregnancy with my son. It grows right back ^_^ tell us how the dr appointment goes Monday!

Will do, no doubt I'll have to wait a week for results of the swab I'm hoping she will do :)

Yeah I figured it was normal, I lost most of my plug in the beginning but it grew back.

Thanks Princessmummy :)

Well just back from the doctors, she said it sounds like PGP (pelvic girdle pain) which is pretty much spd isn't it? She told me to take paracetamol and rest when I need to. She doesn't want to give me anything stronger unless she absolutely has too. Just proves the midwife didn't give a damn.... Grrrrr! I've seriously had enough of being treated like dirt!
