I haven't been on here in a year. I FINALLY got my BFP last September, but it ended at 5.5 weeks :( no BFPs since, but I did go in and get a laprascopic dye test done in July.

Appointments with my specialist here are hard to come by, so I only just saw him this week for my results. Everything looks good, my tubes are open :happydance: That should be great news, but I was kind of hoping for something small to be wrong that a procedure could 'fix' then I could get another BFP straight away

Anyway, Dr Has prescribed me Clomid for 6 cycles - he is confident that I will see my BFP because ther eis nothing physically preventing. I'm a little  because I haven't really been preventing for years.......

Thoughts? Suggestions? Oh, I have been using Preseed and elevating hips after BD, but not temping because I have a puppy and am up and outside at odd hours of the night :laugh2:

I myself am new to TTC but I didn't want to just read and run... Best of luck with your TTC journey!!

I wish I could tell you something magical to help you get pregnant.

If I knew, I'd have like 12 kids in my house, so maybe it's best that I don't know the secret. :haha:

:hugs: ttc is hard. I hope it happens for you soon.

I don't have any magic advice either, except eat properly and take care of yourself. You might think about CoQ10 as well (we've got a thread going about it a little further down the page) because it seems like it's helping a lot of women.

Beyond that, lots of luck and baby dust!

Im unexplained as well, all tests are great...open tubes, good fsh, ok amh etc
but not even a hint of a bfp in 18 months. I know exactly what you mean, wish there was something to fix! Its nice your FS is confident, I was never told anything like that. I was excited to go on clomid but that didnt work, then excited to do IUIs and those didnt work so now its IVF. i hope your journey is a short one in here. are you using any kind of ovulation predictor? as its good to know your ovulation is coming. good luck :flower:

Hi Zimmy, I too have been away from this site for a long time after 2 MMCs in the last year or so, and am also now back on Clomid. Are you using OPKs or a fertility monitor? The reason I ask is that I have found that on Clomid my ovulation day is earlier than it was in my 'normal' cycles, so it is useful to know when you're going to ov. I think timing is the most important thing, so combined with your preseed maybe OPKs would help?
Fingers crossed for you x

Thanks everyone for the words of encouragement! Funny thing - my Specialist said that when I start taking the Clomid, to not chart or calculate my ovulation, just BD every other day. I think he suspects we are BDing only around O (which I must admit to often doing!) So much work!! haha

hi zimmy

welcome back and really sorry for your loss :hugs: It's so good that your dr is being positive and understanding. although I completely understand when you say you wish there was a specific 'fix', but just think of it this way, Clomid is an active step in the right direction, and fxd it will be your "fix"

Hmm...it is interesting that he said not to use opk's, perhaps you're right about his reasoning. Thanks for sharing,it's certainly one for me to think about because I think I tend to get too focused on the timing issue.

Good luck :dust:

I'm sorry to hear about your loss.

I also find it very interesting that the fertility specialist advised against trying to time BD and just do it every other day. My ovulation is always quite late and I find that we get too worn out if we start too early in the month. It's counterproductive for us because we end up having unproductive sessions and both me and OH find that very upsetting. I do agree that maybe it would be better in theory if you could just do it every second day but I bet there are lots of couples that just can't manage that in practice.

I can´t manage not to fight with my oH for a whole month, if we did it everyother day I´d have to play nice all month. I can´t, he is too unreasonable, some times I have to fight back...yeah I know, sounds ideal doesn´t it?
But seriously every other day?? who can manage that. I agree it isn´t good to focus only on Ov days but can we at least do every three days all month and every other mid cycle?

I don't think I have ever counted out my days unless it's my fertile time.

Some weeks it's five times, and other weeks it's once.
I only really care about ov time, so that's when I schedule it.

Scheduled sex for an entire month seems like it would make a definate strain on the realtionship. The entire month would revolve around pregnancy, instead of just a few days.
I prefer the few days.

Zimmy - will your doc be monitoring you at all through your clomid cycles? 6 cycles seems like a long time on clomid. Clomid has been known to thin the lining and cause ovarian cysts so its definitely important to have things checked periodically to ensure the clomid isn't causing any damage.

I am a lil worried about those side-effects (cysts, thinning of lining etc.), but the Dr. does not want to see me again for 6 months, so looks like no monitoring in-between. Where I live there isn't really choice of shopping around for another Doctor as the waiting lists for the first appointment are sometimes 2 years! I guess I'll just hope and pray that this works and I won't need so many cycles of it.....anything I can to naturopathically to help with this?

i'm not too sure about this and please do be sure to check/research whether you can take it along side the CLOMID before you take anything..but i was thinking about a good uterine tonic perhaps? like Red raspberry leaf tea, perhaps in small quantities to offset the CLOMID side effects..just a thought, i'm sure others here know better !
