Hi Ladies...

I'm 29 years old and my bf and I have been trying for 2 years now. When I was 4 years old, my appendix rutured and the doctors had to go in and remove it. According to my mom, I had an infection afterwards and the drs had to go in a second time to clean it. Anyways, I'm wondering if that has anything to do with my infertility. My dr says that at 4 years old, my tubes should not have formed yet, so she highly doubts that I have blocked tubes. (i personally think my tubes are blocked...)

My period is also irregular. My cycle days ranges between 28 - 70 days. Yep. Some times they're 30, somtimes 48, sometimes 57 days. My last period was 10/28/11 and I just recently got my period again on 1/6/12. As soon as I got my period, I started on cd4. I was scheduled to have an HSG done today, but I am still bleeding so the appt had to be cancled. In a way, i'm disapointed b/c i want to know if my tubes are okay - but then I don't want to know either... plus i'm not looking forward to the procedure... :nope: I'm kind of hoping that with this 1st round of clomid... I'll somehow get pregnant.

My question is... do you know anyone who is in the same boat as me (ruptured appendix and all) but has gotten pregnant? I'm an only child.. and I feel so lonely all the time. My bf and I want a child soo much...

Sorry I don't know any one in the same boat. But I would recommend doing the HSG as soon as possible, if they are blocked then the side effects from the clomid would all be for nothing. I'm sure the doc knows what he's talking about but I thought when we were born we had everything already, tubes and all. Sounds a little strange that they form all of a sudden when we're older. Don't worry about the HSG so much. Honestly it's a little uncomfortable and you may be crampy for about 30 min after but it's nothing that's unmanageable. Try taking a pain killer at least 30-60 min before the appointment.

I had abdominal surgery when I was born and then another one when I was about 6. My OBGYN and the radiologist said that the surgery caused my organs to skew and that could cause some collection of mucus and scar tissue.

Get the HSG as soon as possible. I know you think a blocked tube(s) would be disappointing but failed clomid cycles can also be disappointing. Sometimes tubes can be unblocked with the dye but if you're doing clomid without the HSG and they aren't clear, then there really isn't any point to the clomid. :(

Think positive. I was where you were and it sucks but the longer you go the more frustrating the wait is. :hugs:

Thank you ladies... I know I really need to get that HSG done. I guess knowing is better than not knowing. I'm trying to think positively - but I don't know if it's the effects of CLOMID, but I was just an emotional wreck yesterday. Part of me was mad b/c I was still bleeding so I had to cancel the HSG appt but the other part was a bit relieved... Today, I'll do just about anything to get an HSG appt but there are no avail appts and they're closed for the weekend. Looks like all this wondering about my tubes will go on 'til i get my next period.

My appendix burst and I had peritonitis when I was 13. I almost died. Although I have been ttc for a while now (we are unexplained) I did get pregnant when I was 17 and my hsg was totally clear. Try not to worry but get the hsg done ASAP x

Thanks KittyCat, I feel a lot better knowing that someone is in the (kinda) same situation as me too...!

I saw my dr on CD12 and she confirmed that I have PCOS. Ultrasound shows that I have 2 follicles, both are under 18mm, and "a beautiful lining"! Cant wait to start trying... :happydance:

*Hoping to be a Mommy one day*
