Hi All,

I know there have been loads of threads regarding this topic&spd, but it is really getting to me!!! I have three young children to look after and have the worst si j pain ever, which all stems from congenital hip dysplasia as a prem baby, and an arthritic hip!!! I know loads of people have to deal with alot worse, but i cant do my housework, pick up my baby or sleep etc.....and just wondered if anyone had any management ideas that i havent tried OR if anyone has had their joints fused???

Soz to moan...just nice to know your not alone sometimes...i feel 86 rather than 26 lol

Thanks ladies :hugs:

I have the same thing flare up here and there as a result of my hip surgery throwing things off balance. So far the pregnancy hasnt affected it.. but i am only 12 weeks. I had a lot of relief from a chiropractor for this pre-pregnancy.

Good Luck and feel better!

i have this. have you had the MRI to check what's going on?

i've found chiropractic and physio have made a massive difference to me. i can run you through the exercises if you haven't got a physio yet?

i'm going to start going to a pilates class soon on the recommendation of my physio.

are you on decent pain meds? you could be taking paracetamol, codiene and diclofenac, that is my mixture. if you are still in a lot of pain keep going back to your doctor about pain relief.

Ive had physio for the last two years and was on diclofenic for my arthritic hip, but they have stoped it as say its not safe in preg. Can i take codeine then? I had an mri years ago, which showed my hips were arthritic and pelvis tilted, but obviously since babies i have had a whole host of problems as my left leg is shorter, sij pain spd, tilted pelvis...have orthotics in my shoes to try to correct my gait, but the physio and doc dont seem to care as its all related to a problem ive had since birth! Can i have an mri whilst pregnant hopedance?

sorry it passed me by slightly that you're still pregnant, sorry about that. i have no idea what is safe in pregnancy and what is not, but the pain killers i'm on are good for post-baby as they are ok for breastfeeding. i guess i'd recommend asking the pharmacist about pain meds, they seem to know more than GPs, and i'd highly recommend a mctimoney chiropractor for the tilted pelvis. having a tilted pelvis seems to be involved in all this pelvic pain. my mum's a chiropractor and for ages she didn't treat me because i just thought it wouldn't work. but the GP thought it was a good idea, so we gave it a go and it helped hugely. my pelvis was tilted, and becomes tilted again every week, but every week she puts it straight for me. even though it gets tilted again, my pain is massively reduced so long as i get treated regularly.
