One of my best friends told me today that she had a miscarriage...

We had talked earlier about her 'maybe' pregnancy, and she bought two pegnancy tests but it was to far away from her period for them to be completely accurate, so she was gonna wait...
And I asked her about it today and she said that on Monday she noticed something...coming out of..down there...and she got scared and went to the doctor...and they told her that she miscarried...

She kept saying that it was her fault cause she's really active in cheerleading and her workouts are strenuous...and the doctor told her that that might be why it happened...she's completely beating herself up about it.
I tried to comfort her but I've never gone through it, and I dunno what to say..:nope:

Her boyfriend also was just deployed to Afganistan and she can't talk except by letter that takes about 2 weeks to get there...

I told her about what all you girls on here say about her being the mom to an angel, and that seemed to help a little...
But idk...any help on what I can say?

I'm so sorry for her loss. I doubt it was anything to do with her being so active, it was probably just one of those terrible, awful things that just happen. How far along was she? I don't know what you can say to help her feel better, just offer to be there if she needs someone. :hugs: I hope she can get through this difficult time.

The doctor shouldn't have said it could be because of that!! How dare they?

That what I thought...cause she was already upset! I couldn't believe they would try to make it worse...=/

How incredibly insensitive of the doctor! That's just terrible
I also seriously doubt that her workouts caused her mc. It's possible, but it's far more likely that this tragic event just happened, and that she could have done nothing to prevent it.

God, it's horrible enough to go through something like that, let alone thinking it's your fault! I'd like to smack the doctor upside the head.

Keeping her and her angel in thoughts and prayers

Thats really horrible, and what a nasty thing the doctor said :( especially since it might not of been the reason, i'm sure there are loads of people out there who do a sport or something without realising they are pregnant x

Aww so sorry to hear about that..thoughts and hugs to your friend xx:hugs:x

Aww, I'm so sorry for your friend.
The doctor really shouldn't have said that her being active may have been the cause. My first miscarriage I was unaware I was pregnant and did alot of heavy lifting etc, I totally beat myself up about it but the doctors said they really cannot give any reason.

It's definitley not her fault.
xxx

I tried to tell her that it wasn't her fault cause she didn't know, and I know that if she would have known she wouldn't have done it....she just sounded so beat up when I talked to her :nope: I felt horrible...

That breaks my heart, Treslyn! That doctor should have just kept his mouth shut since he doesn't know what actually caused it! Your poor friend.

I don't think there's really anything anyone can say to make her feel better about it. It's just good that you're there for her right now. :hugs:
