safe to use acrylic paint?

So I've been bored recently and decided to crack out the craft paints and do some painting.

However, are they safe to use? I've been using water based acrylic paint and managed to get some on my hands >.<

I googled it, but theres no real answer.

Anyone know?

Hmm, sorry im no use but im curious too! Im always crafting and have gone a bit mad making all sorts of christmas things but i hadn't even given paint safety a second thought! Im sure it's probably fine. Wonder if anyone knows.....
I'd say definitely use gloves though!
