How does that work? I've seen it a few times on here but I assumed as I'm intentionally staying at home with Caitlyn I'm entitled to nothing as Rich works full-time? I know you shouldn't expect help, but I'm just wondering if we're entitled to anymore money.. Better to know what you're entitled to IYKWIM? As far as I'm aware we're only entitled to £10p/w tax credits. Not sure if that's much or little  We're not entitled to housing benefit or anything like that.

nah if u live with a partner and they r working u cant claim jack sh*t which isnt fair if u need the help. All u can get is tax credits as far as im aware.

Are u claiming tax credits now? I called tax credits up the other week as we still arent claiming it and seen as i wasnt working we would be getting up to an estimated £300 a month working and child credits a month and my oh earns a nice wage

Nah we're not claiming yet, saving for abit more for our house then we'll start claiming. Done two calculators and they say £10 a week x

i havent done it using the calcualtors if u call tax credits and ask for a form they will ask questions about ur ohs wage n give u a estimate of how much u will get but they do give u less if u have savings! i duno why

yep i don't think we're entitled to nothing, we don't get any help either x

Yep thats it tax credits! which is a bit shoddy! i actually cant work even if i wanted to theres no jobs here at all! we should invent a new benift!! haha sahm alowence anyone?

yah know just enuff to keep us in a new pram every month or so ? say £500 quid a month?

we dont get any tax credits either, its f***ing shit!!

I get £130 a week inc. Family Tax Credits, Child Benefit & Income support. I also get over half my rent paid for by housing benefit's, I'm lucky really. I just cant wait to get rid of this agoraphobia so I can go and get another qualification I need, and get a high paid job.
I know it's sad to say but I am better off on benefits until I am in a very high paid job because it works out if I work 16 hours a week at min wage , I will be £50 better off and I would much rather stay at home with Hallie until she is in school.

Why do you get so much? If you don't mind me asking  Because Darren isn't Hallie's dad?

Yeah, he doesn't give me any financial help at all towards Hallie as he cant afford too. He is in bad debt so after his outgoings a month he has like £200 to last him. He pays for my bills etc though!

Oh alright. Jealous
I hate it, I hate how people react to you when you find out you are on benefits expesh because I'm a shock shock 'teen mum'. Pisses me right off.

Darren's debt should be all gone by the time Hallie goes to School Nursery so we can look on getting a mortgage and I will get a job.

Mortgages are like under half what we pay a month in rent it's shocking! It's just actually being able to get a mortgage due to age/credit etc.

I know we would have a deposit in no time as My Grandad would help an awful lot. Just wish we would be applicable for one!!

ur OH needs to claim wrking tax credits hun but i wud defo go to jobcentre see if theres anything eles x

amy- i was under impression tht if you lived with someone who was working they was expected to support you regardless...

not saying i agree with it just would hate for you to get in trouble iykwim...

and def agree with you about going back to work it just isnt finacially worth it unless you are very well paid
