My LO has a scaly wet rash behind both of his ears, cleaning doesn't seem to get rid of it as I wash him every morning and it reappears after a couple of hours. It doesn't seem to be bothering him but it does look quite sore especially at the top of the ear where it's quite wet like it's seeping :/ anyone got any idea of what it is?

looks like eczema,
Avoid any Johnsons products as the usually make it worse.
If you have any nappy cream like sudocream that can help.

looks like that to me too. aqueous cream is good, you can use it as soap too and can get it free from your health visitor.

like hypnorm said avoid johnsons products, they are perfumed and can irritate more than help. also if he gets more over any other areas there is a liquid you can put in the bath i thinkit is called oilatum and is good

Definately looks like eczema - ask your HV about Epiderm. It's absolutely brilliant for eczema as my two had it really badly when they were small and it always worked wonders. It's non medicated aswell so you can't over-use it. It keeps the skin nice and moist and stops it from cracking. I agree that Johnsons products are a no-no with eczema - they really irritate it :flower: xx

Aveeno is a nice cream too, you can get on prescription otherwise about £6 a tube from Boots. My son had this at abut the same age, just keep it well moisturised and make sure you pat dry after washing. My son's went in a week or two x

it looks like excema, but if it's seeping it might be a bit infected and need a steroid cream. See your doctor!

my hv said its caused by milk running down there when there feeding that you dont notice sudocrem will heal it up

id be careful with aquaeos if it is excezma its parrfin wax which causes a big reaction in children x

Aqueous is generally no longer recommended for babies and kids because what soph said, its very common for babies to have this, all of mine did; I'd say make sure you dry the area well when washing it and use a gentle cream or ointment to heal it up, aveeno is really good for this

My daughter had this too, right up until she was 2 and the doc said it was eczema. She had it long past the time she had bottles x

Aqueous cream isnt recommended now. The reason you can use it as soap is because it contains Sodium Lauryl Sulphate, which is the "de-greasing" ingredient found in shampoo's, soap etc. It dries the skin out. My lo has been using it on his exema, and only when told about this^ did I understand why it wasnt working.
