So.. As some of you know- I am expecting my second baby within 12 months of each other. I had an emergency c-section last time as I was in labour for almost 3 days. I came in to deliver and I had a break out about 4 days prior (hsv2). My doctor had not prescribed me my medicine to eliminate break outs until way after he was supposed to. I was so angry :growlmad: I wanted to deliver vaginally (they told me I had to have a c and I bawled my eyes out) So, of course, with my second I was planning to do a vbac if possible. Now it obviously isn't because I conceived again wayyyy before we planned on doing so  I am upset again, but I knew it would have to happen as soon as I saw that little pink line show up.

I picked a different ob this time because my old ob... While he was very nice and the best in my region by far. One of the best in the state... When he pulled my son out he did not hold him over the curtain for me to see. I had to wait almost 30min to see him. Which felt like hours. There was nothing wrong with him when he came out. He was perfectly healthy and screaming. Also, when I knew I was ready to deliver that day, I called my ob office. I had an appointment that day at 1pm. I told them my contractions were less than 30seconds apart. Their response was "oh you're fine, we will see you at your appointment!" An hour later I just couldn't take it anymore and went to the hospital. The woman at the front desk told me I looked like I needed to be there (thank you lol) when my ob came in he looked at me and said "well gee, I thought they told you to wait for your appointment. Guess you couldn't wait, huh?" Uh... NO!!

I am almost nervous to schedule a c-section as it was so traumatic the last time for me. I am hoping my new ob will be more understanding.

I kind of just wanted to share my story and fears. Anybody else have a similar experience? It would be good to know I'm not alone!

Your not the only one hun, i had a terrible section with dd1 which ended with me needing extra surgery after this next c section this time to correct my scar as its like a massive earth worm under the skin and is so painful. i didn't get to hold my dd until i got back to my room. My old ob was so bad he came into the theatre and didn't say a word didn't say baby is born nothing the whole time.

my new ob is going to give me some "happy gas" to relax me before they start this time and then once the cord is clamped they will give me something through iv to relax me better. my anxiety is through the roof this time but i am slowly gaining faith in my new ob that he will get us through it and hopefully this will be a much better experience.

my section is booked for 38+3 this time.

awww hun iv never had an emcs but i can tell you a plannes section is amazing. Look up "natural section" ... everything is done much slower.. baby is stepped out instead of yanked out quickly, they delay cutting the cord etc and is amazing. This is what i requested and they did it for me.. same as dropping the drape to show me baby straight away. (added 1st ever photo of him as he was lifted although DH wasnt too good with the camera :haha: and also the 2nd pic just as he was handed to the midwife). dh went with him to cut the cord properly (they leave it long to start with) and while he was weighed then he was brought straight to me :) I could have had skin to skin while they stitched me up but i felt sick so waited till in recover. I had my cathater in till 6am the following morning as my urine output wasnt very good.. but once that was removed i needed no help and was home by 10am on the 2nd morning. I LOVED my section but im hoping to try a VBAC this time but thats nothing to do with my experience with the section xx

Thanks so much ladies! I feel tons better- I may even request that happy gas a bit before hand as well. I will still be nervous when it comes time because I was just so torn apart from the previous experience. The delay on cutting the cord sounds fantastic! He didn't let my husband do it or even ask if he wanted to -.- I am hoping we are getting our little girl this go around- so if he could cut the cord, it would really make things that much more special (if so this will be his only girl out of 3 boys).

Xxensial- So sorry you need to have anther surgery!! I can't imagine ;( I was fortunate in the fact that my ob made such an amazing insicion. People have actually stared at it in wonder because it looks so great. At least I took one good thing out of it I guess? Lol. I can't believe the guy didn't even speak to you!! I would be yelling at him even more than I yelled at mine. The nurses did talk to me more than him. I kept shouting at him to let me see my baby over and over again and he stayed silent.

At the very least, I would explain your concerns to your new OB so that you can have a plan set up.

I was told they cant delay for the whole 5 minutes because theatre isnt warm enough for that but they did 3 minutes with mine.. cut the cord long and then let DH cut it properly once he was over at the warming table being cleaned and weighed. xx
