Hey there ladies,

So I obviously do not belong in here, as I have yet to have my LO but thought I would run my vision past you and see what you think.

My thoughts are that I am going to BF during the night/mornings and bottle feed with formula in the afternoons/evenings.

This way I am thinking LO will have a good supply of nutrients from breast milk and also be used to formula when we decide to ween him off of the breast milk. As well, this way OH can take part in feeding when he gets home from work and BFing in public (my biggest fear ) is avoided.

Think I am out of my mind???

If you find out what sort of bottles and teats (think you call them nipples?) available in your area are closest to breastfeeding as in the speed of the flow and the size of the bit in the baby's mouth it could help.

I am in the UK and was advised to use NUK bottles; could be luck but my baby has so far not had a problem going between breast and bottle like some babies do.

I think it is because bottle feeding is easier for them as in they can be lazier but for them breastfeeding is harder work.

We do mostly bf with one bottle feed a day (bedtime usually). works for us!

Hey cool you're from Edmonton, I just moved from there back to BC.

Anyways I have been doing the whole boobie and bottle thing for a while now and haven't had any issues with confusion between the two really. I did start off by mostly BFing for the first couple of weeks with the odd bottle and now she gets morning and night feeds from boobie and bottles mostly the rest. We use the playtex gentle nursers and slow or variable nipples.
