So after a week of agonising pain and everything I try nothing has worked doctor has said I have a L5 prolapse and which is what is causing my sciatica. *sighs* I feel like shit to be honest. 2 weeks to go.
Anyone else have any back pains/issues?:nope:

I have a permanently herniated disc between L5 & S1 which is damaged. Have had it about 8 years and really expected to have a lot of trouble with it but have only had one bad flare up (so far fingers crossed). I find heat pads help a lot. Also get referred to physio now-that can help a bit. And massage helps too.

I have spondylolisthesis and two ruptured disk. A long time ago I had shots in my spine (cortizone, I believe), which helped tremendously. Previous to the shots, I was in extreme pain sitting, standing, or lying down. I was constantly limping and in tears because the pain would not go away. I had lower back pain and syatica. The shots did help, but losing weight helped the most. Since I had lost weight, I only had aching in my lower back, and the siatica only bothered me if I twisted or did something like lift really heavy stuff (im hard headed). Now that I am pregnant and in my 3rd triamester it is bothering me more because clearly I can not simply lose this weight. After the shots, it began to bother me again, and I went to a physical therapist. She said my hips were not aligned correctly and did something, I heard and felt a pop in my hip, and it was better after that. You may want to go to physical therapy, or a chiropractor to see if they can give you relief while you are pregnant. That is the only thing I know to work well for a while. Pain meds are not usually an option while pregnant, and even if they were, the effective ones are highly addictive (still all the pain doesn't go away), and they are only a temporary fix, the pain returns as soon as the meds wear off. After you have the baby, you need to focus on strengthening your abs, which will add support to your spine and relieve some of the pressure off the disk that is penching the nerve. I have been dealing with this problem since 1999. Hope things get better for you.
