Ok firstly a bit about my son hes 16 weeks old tomorrow. He is bottle fed (has been since birth) he has been on aptamil and now on sma wysoy (as we thought the problem might be lactose intolerant).

He has talipes so has a brace on his feet which consists of two sandals attached by a bar which he has to wear for 23 hours a day until his hours get reduced on the 12th of august eventually he will be wearing it for 12 hours a day (at night only) until he is 5.

When Ethan was born he was brought into the world via vontouse and forceps and there for taken to maydays special care baby unit as he was grunting and had a large caput. We only saw him a few hours a day and my partner hardly saw him as she was extremely ill and suffering from bad headaches due to a torn dura from the epidural.

Eventually after a week we got him home as his medication had stopped (he was on a 5 day course of antibiotics as he caught a fever from my partner during the labour) and we got fed up with the way we were being treated. (thats another story)

Upon geting him home after a bout a month we noticed he had trouble feeding he would kick and scream and just get really bad stomach cramps through out the feeds, it has gotten worse over time. He usually kicks off after a bout one ounce we have been to the doctors and mayday countless times and they put him on a two week course of ranitidine and something else which didnt work. We give him alot of gripe water during feeds and calpol to try and get the wind up and settle him down but over all nothing seems to help.

We are not at a loss and cant cope with the constant screaming and trouble feeding. we just want oto know whats wrong. He also has an unbilicle hernia but we were told it wont cause him any pain but we are not so sure now.

any one else gotg any ideas?

also we have tried all teh typical dentinox infacol all of them and nothing worked.

may i also add we are currently using the dr browns bottles which arent really doing much. we have tried colief in the formula which hasnt done much either.

we arent sure if its colic or reflux or his hernia, or anything else.

My LO does this, she's 12 weeks old. we've tried 3 sorts of bottles and teats, we're now on Dr Browns which aren't doing much.
we use infacol and gaviscon, nothing is helping.
she's only taking 10oz a day.
she did exactly the same on the breast, I tried to breastfeed her for two weeks, she'd latch on (after ages of struggling) take some milk and then cry.
it seems like she's in pain after an ounce or two, she tries to keep drinking but cries, kicks and fusses.
I don't know what to do any more, we're going to see the HV tomorrow.

it really is to much to handle now i just cant cope with the constant screaming and worry.

also he has gone onto solids today which is baby porridge and petit fulous yoghurt things and he doesnt scream on them but the second the milk goes down he starts. its just to much we really are getting fed up of it now weve tried everything and no one is helping us we just want our baby to be better and normal, we dread taking him out if hes due for a feed we dont want to feed him infront of people as they think were hurting him intentionally or something and people dont understand when we take his bottle away for a few minutes for him to calm down they say oh hes crying give him his bottle back hes crying because he wants his bottle, but thats not true hes crying because of the bottle so we have to let him calm down before carrying on.

does he have trouble passing poo or keep been sick? even if its a few hours after bottle?

my LO was a fussy drinker too but I think it was a phase he went through or possibly it was because he was on number 1 teat size. I tried him on number 2 teat size and he seemed to be struggling with it (the tommee tippee CTN bottles) but after a few days he seemed to get on better with them but he dribbled loads of milk out so I've now changed him onto MAM bottles which he's fine with and dribbles less milk out. He still fusses about when I feed him now and then but I've found out that if i put the telly on he will drink a full 7oz while watching the tv with no fuss

he has been badly constipated for a while now, he poos every day but it is really really hard sometimes and yes we do give him alot of water and juice, since hes had his solids his poo has got a bit better but the feeding with milk hasnt been great still and yes he does often be sick but its not a lot at all its only a little bit say if he burps and it comes up.

some one must know something surely he just screams and screams and screams after a few sips something isnt right and the doctors arent helping my partner has post natal depression now to and is on medication im finding it hard to cope.

we went to see the health visitor today about this, Alexa has put some weight on, she's happy and bright etc so it won't be looked into or anything.
the HV said it's probably colic and she'll grow out of it.

we have bought the Aptimil comfort milk to see if it helps, I hope it does.
It's just really frustrating
it's like saying "oh you have broken leg, but you're not dying so we won't do anything about it"
my baby is putting weight on but that doesn't mean she's not in pain/discomfort!
