screaming at other kids...

Josh has started this lately. If another child looks at him when we are at the park or at the store, he completely loses it and screams at them... I am afraid he will hit one if they come too close!

He used to like other kids! Now he is freaking out. Gosh I feel so bad when I get the dirty looks from the other parents... How can I help him and make him stop? He goes to playgroup and a special needs playgroup and the educators says he's doing fine (he doesn't mix with the other kids much and stays on on his own, but he doesn't scream at them...)

Any of you had this problem? It's been very difficult with him lately...

My son is a similar age to your son (4 in jan) and we often have times where he can be like this. At its worse he would go into a mcdonalds playplace or even a grocery store and just completely melt down screaming to get the people out or the kids away from him . Whats helped a lot is his special ed preschool run by the school system, its really making a difference with his socialising, is there anything like that where you are? Its 4 days a week so pretty intense

My son can do this too. I have to remind him with social story's that we be nice to others and walk or look away if he does not like it. xx
