I'm 38 years old and will be 39 at delivery. We had the nuchal test with bloods done at 12 weeks. I will not do it again. I suggest going straight to the amnio. The nuchal with bloods has a high false positve rate. I've had several doctors tell me this except the one who actually performed the tests. I didn't like the fact that they didnt draw blood from my arm, they pricked my finger and put blood on some paper chart. The fluid behind the baby measured at 1.0 so the us was good. I was given a 1:16 chance of downs and 1:4000 for trisomies. We are waiting for the results of our amnio. It takes 10-14 business days unless we paid extra for a FISH test, which comes back in 24 hours. After being so upset about my bloods, I chose to wait the 10-14 days for accurate results.
