I feel I need to share my story for everyone ttc that may be in a different situation than most of the population.
We have been ttc for almost a year without success. My cycles are perfect, bbt charts are beautiful, and timing was spot on. So why are we not getting pregnant?

I decided to do some online investigation about male multiple orgasm/ejaculation. Well it seems there is practically no information for this online. I guess we are one of the few couples in which the man has multiple orgasms without going flaccid in between. Well this all sounds great for love making, but apparently not for baby making. Anyway, I had stumbled onto something called the Semen Displacement Theory.
According to this theory the male phallus has evolved to become a sperm competition device. It's shape is intended to remove or displace possible previous semen from the vagina during intercourse.
This information hit me like a ton of bricks. Here we were, under the impression that multiple continuous ejaculation would be great for baby making. We were so wrong.
After finding this information we changed it up during the next cycle and went for one ejaculation without any more thrusting just after. Needless to say we got pregnant that first month!
If any of you ladies have a man that can achieve multiple orgasm and have been unsuccessful ttc, this theory may be the reason.

Yup. Semen needs to stay in after ejaculation! Most people don't have an issue that could make extra precautions necessary, but some of us definitely do!

My DH has high viscosity and if he doesn't pull out in just the right way with me in just the right position, everything comes right out- and due to the high viscosity, it actually is pretty much everything. In our case, it's super important to make sure everything stays in and I wait for an hour before getting up. (High viscosity semen takes longer to liquefy and start traveling.)

Once we realized all that (and once I got healthy enough to start ovulating again) we tested it out. The first month of really being careful not to lose the swimmers, I got a BFP (albeit a chemical). Next month I had another super faint line on the HPT (possibly another chemical, was out of town and couldn't get BW done). That was last month. This month we're doing a FET, but at least now I have the hope that even if this cycle doesn't work, we may actually have a shot at a natural pregnancy someday. It sure would be cheaper if we could do it on our own!
