After 8 months of delayed appointments due to covid we’ve finally seen a physiotherapist that has recommended my little boy has some serial casting done next week for idiopathic toe walking (he doesn’t walk btw just stands up tip toed) he’s 2 next month.

They given us night/resting splints to use for a week before he gets the casts. I just need advice on the whole process if anyone else has gone through this. How long before improvements were seen and does your child walk normally now?

I’m hoping these will get Enzo walking in general, he’s never walked even tip toe walking has never happened and he’s less than a month away from turning 2 and starting nursery. He’s also potentially on the autistic spectrum so I’m worried how he will deal with the whole casting in general.

Hopefully someone here has been through this and can give me some positive advice x

Thank you hun, he really has been through it! We are still waiting to have the casts put on, it’s likely they will be on over Christmas but if it helps him to walk then I don’t care. I’m so down over it all, nothing has been straight forward for him xx
