I just had my baby boy a week ago. I am breast feeding and formula feeding. This morning I had an everything bagel which contains sesame and poppy seeds. After, I pumped and fed him 2 oz of breast milk. I didn't think about it until after, but are the seeds harmful to him? I ate these bagels throughout my pregnancy and I keep reading on google that it's bad for a nursing baby...

I don't think either are harmful, unless there is a chance he could be allergic to them, and as you obviously don't have an allergy, you're probably fine. Sesame seeds in particular are a good source of calcium, which is my excuse for eating lots of hummous and halva!!

I don't think there is anything you can eat that will harm baby, not without an allergy (dairy mainly I guess). So help yourself to the bagels.

Obviously drugs/medicines and alcohol excepted.

I never cut back on any seeds and DD is great. Xx

Thanks ladies! I kept hearing that certain seeds can cause them to have tummy problems but it seems like he's fine :)
