so today was my appointment to take Izzy to the pediatrician.
i already knew she was lactose intolerant but didn't know her reading/level was that severe. i also though she could be cows milk intolerant too.
the pediatrician offered me the choice of nutramigen or neocate so i went for nutramigen nap i hate heard many babies refuse nuetramigen because of the taste.
anyway i just want to know if it can be added to slightly warm water or if it needs to be made there and then?
i make all of Izzys bottles with water that is warm enough to drink out of a thermal.

also is anyone else lo on this formula for the same reasons did it help?
if this doesn't work he is going to put her onto neocate or aa x

as i have heard many babies refuse neocate i meant x

Hiya, my little girl is on Nutramagen and it has helped loads, she has a cows milk protien allergy and severe silent reflux and refused to drink at all! She is on omeprazole now for the reflux and Nutramagen, you can make it warm that's n

The can says not to warm it because it will weaken the power of the probiotics in it.

When my LO was on Nutramigen I bought an organic powdered baby probiotic (Flora Baby) to add to one bottle a day so I could warm the formula and not worry about the probiotics. I still give them to her and it helps her digestion and gas.

Nutramigen smells awful too. All the hypoallergienic formulas do. The protein in Neocate is broken down more, so it's even worse than Nutramigen.

I ended up with Similac Alimentum because my LO got sick on the Nutramigen from her reflux even more than she did on Gentle Ease.

Good luck! I hope it works for you!

thanks for the replies, this didn't help and she is now on neocate and doing better. still sick which we believe now has to be the reflux. x

My little boy has a CMPA and was put onto Nutramigen 2. He was still allergic to that (the proteins are still in the milk but are extensively hydrolysed or broken down in this formula - it is also known as EHF) so the paediatric dietician put him onto Neocate LCP which he seems happier on. Neocate is completely synthetic - there are no cow's milk proteins in this at all (have a look at the ingredients list - I think Crayz may have got confused between the two formulas) - so is unlikely to cause any reaction, however it really is unpleasant to taste and not all babies like it. It can take several weeks for the traces of CMP to disappear from our bodies so maybe that it why your little one still isn't right. If after 4-6w there are still issues then you need to see the paed dr again. I hope it's just a case of getting rid of all the proteins in her body - she just needs a bit of time. I hope this helps chick - just remember you are not alone :flower:.

Thanks chick. She's doing better on the neocate, reflux still makes her sick but not projectile like before.
So glad she is finally sorted :) x
