Hello everyone, unfortunately friday, I got devastating news that the reason we have not yet concieved isn't due to my PCOS, but more like to my husbands bad sperm :(. His count was ok at 267 million, motility was 59% which is workable apparently, but his morphology was at the 4% mark. The doctor said we would most likely need ICSI with those numbers as the average should be 15%. Should I just give up on charting and stuff and trying until we can save up enough or is there even a slimmer of hope. My doctor said his score might as well have been azoospermia as pretty much none are normal, so the high numbers do not matter.

I am crushed :(.

Dont loose hope!
I thought the smae thing when my oh's sa came back low morphology it has now increased!

It use to be 14-15% considered normal but now its anything over 4-5% is considered normal. With your oh's count being so high you have a good chance!

Some doctors like to stict to the old criteria but people are conceiving with that percentage of morphology.

There is a thread on here in LTTTC about morphology with a lot of info

I'm sorry, but where the fuck did your doctor go to med school at???

Are you even seeing a fertility specialist? Because general GPs aren't good enough, this isn't the area of expertise.

Azoospermia is 0 sperm. As in you have 0 chances in conceiving naturally.

Count is awesome, motility is good and the morph is average.

Average......
Count- 40 million
Motility- 40%
Morphology- 2-6%

Has your doctor even addressed your PCOS? If you have PCOS, then that IS the cause of your IF.
He should be prescribing you Clomid to help you ovulate or Metformin first to regulate your period. Then you may get pregnant. ICSI??? NO, at the least I would go with an IUI because your count and motility are good.

I would be switching FSs because this one sounds as if he hasn't a clue to what he's talking about.

It's definitely much better than azoo. We have that and will need to get a chunk of DH's testicle taken to look for sperm. I'm glad that you have some to work with, that means there is production happening.

You need a second opinion.
