im 24 weeks and lastnight I went out to dinner at a really nice place and ordered sea bass. I had no idea it was on the do not eat list! I feel terrible now. I didnt eat the entire piece though. Probably about half. Is my little peanut ok? I cant stop thinking about it. I had no idea sea bass was on the list!

I didn't think it was on the don't eat list. I'm sure you'll be fine!

I totally thought it was ok here too. Then i was online when we got home and I saw it said not to eat it and I almost died! I wanted to make myself throwup but my DH said I was crazy and that I am fine. I am usually super careful about what I eat.

Sea bass is fine to eat as long as u dnt eat no more thn 2 portions a wk its swordfish, shark and marlin u shud not it. You had me worried there a i love sea bass lol, but no it will b fine fish is gd for u an baby.

Sea bass is fine in the UK according to food standards agency https://tna.europarchive.org/201101...wsarchive/2004/jun/fishportionslifestagechart

Its considered a white fish which has no limit placed on it.

I'm sure you and baby will be fine! I spent my last pregnancy with DS obsessing over what is ok to eat and what isn't. I missed out on a lot of good food. This time I'm more relaxed and think most things are okay in moderation.

In the US they say not to eat any fish cause it could contain mercury... Which is fine with me cause i dont eat fish =]

Agree with others - sea bass isn't on the list of not to eat fishes as far as I'm aware. I've eaten it during pregnancy. Sure it's just shark, marlin and swordfish my midwife mentioned. And some others should be eaten in moderation but are fine, e.g. Tuna. X

Interesting when they tell you in the UK that you should eat oily fish as it's good for baby's brain development!

I love seabass and have eaten it when Ive been out for dinner etc. although apart from overdoing mercury and vit A I pretty much ignore the avoid list. I just eat what I like. x

Its not on the "don't eat" list for me. The only things I was told was Tilefish, Shark and something else that I dont even think we have here lol BUT my doctor did say none of it was a HUGE deal but he just said be careful. I ate sushi the first part of my pregnancy (only because I didn't know I was pregnant for 3 months LOL). Guess its just a becareful thing :/

That just had me in a panic cos I've eaten sea bass twice so far in this pregnancy

I had my first in California and this one in Texas. Both dr's encouraged me to eat fish, but named a few that were completely off limits and some that shouldn't be consumed more than twice a week. I don't think it's a U.S. thing, but maybe a doctor preference.

Same in Canada - fish is encouraged...

Can you tell me about the 'completely off limits list'? I thought everything is ok, just some in limited quantities (Tuna, swordfish and some others)
