I thought I'd would be good to share what we are all having as our meal/evening food on our wedding day!
I'm pregnant and hungry and want to read all about nice food


We are having a BBQ as our 'main meal' we get to choose 3 mains, 3 salads and 1 desert, and here is the menu -

Mains

Cajun Spiced or Plain Chicken Legs
Barbeque Pork Rack Ribs
Ground Steak Burgers
Cumberland Sausages
Vegetarian Sausages
Chicken Kebabs

Salads

Garlic & Rosemary Baked Baby New Potatoes
Baked Jacket Potatoes
Tossed Dressed Salad
Soft Floured Baps
Corn on the Cob
Asian Coleslaw
Grilled Onions

Dessert Items

Fresh Fruit Salad,
Fresh Cream Home Baked Vanilla Cheesecake
Chocolate Fudge Cake,
Fresh Cream Strawberries, Vanilla Sugar, Fresh Cream

Then followed by Coffee and Homemade Chocolates

Then in the evening we are having a 'Pork and Jackets Buffet' which includes -

Slow Roasted Shoulder of Pork
Soft Baps
Sage & Onion Stuffing
Apple Sauce
Baked Jacket Potato and Butter
Coleslaw

Nom!!! Can I come to your wedding???

We're not big foodies so we went for cheap and cheerful we're having a hog roast served (as in waiting staff serve you the food) buffet type thing. I don't really know actually. And we've not decided what sides etc will go with it yet. Actually thinking about it I've not got a clue We need to sort this I think. Haha

And in the evening we are maybe having a sweetie bar, but that depends on how the budget is looking

We had a sweet buffet it was fab ! !

For ours we just had a desert and a main

We had a carvery so was a choice of Turkey/Beef/Gammon or ish for veggys, that was serve your self so could have as much or as little as you wanted, then a home made apple pie and custard for desert it was fab then on the night we had a huge buffet with cheese boards and deserts on

Oh n as for the sweetie bar, we done it our selves and litrally cost us 60 at the most x

were having greek food and its going to be a buffet as we have too many to do a sit down meal!! although a sit down would be lovely!! im making sure my foods served and waiting on the side for me lol!!

We're not 100% on our food, but we have an idea. Our reception is in a pub and we want to have proper pub food! They've told us we can have anything we want! But we have used their menu as a guide. This is what we are thinking at the minute...

Starters:
Garlic Mushrooms
Tomato and Basil Soup

Main Course:
Roast Beef with Yorkshire Pudding
Chicken in Tarragon Sauce
Vegetable Lasagne

Dessert:
Warm Chocolate Fudge Brownie
Eton Mess

And we've not decided on the evening food yet. Probably a buffet

Oh and we are having a sweetie table!

Omg Lauren........your food sounds soooooo good!! I keep coming back and reading it cos its just so yum!!

Here is my menu. Its really poncy but me and OH are massive foodies and work in food so its very important to us. Its all about the food!! We wrote it ourselves along with the chef.

Starter

Roast Plum Tomato Soup
Green Peppercorn Crème Fraîche

Marinated Salmon
Beetroot, Orange and Radish salad

Venison Carpaccio
Pickled Wild Mushrooms, Pecorino Nero and Roquette


Main Course

Beef Wellington

Roast Label Anglaise chicken Breast
Wild Mushrooms, Salsify, Chervil Gnocchi

Fillet of Halibut
Preserved Lemons, Brown Shrimps, Jerusalem Artichoke Puree


Dessert

Assiette of desserts –
Caramelized lemon tart, raspberry puree
Chocolate terrine, Clementine sorbet
Apple and sultana strudel

Cheese

Selection of Ice cream and sorbet

melon with fruit coulis, then a roast beef dinner finishing off with apple crumble and custard for desert
