I thought it might be nice to have a collective place to share our milestones, however big or small. what did your baby do today/this week to make you proud? Did they have their oxygen turned down, come off caffeine, gain weight, take a bottle for the first time? :cloud9:

For us, Jude gained 4oz this week so is 7lb 13oz :cloud9:

anybody else want to share some proud moments?

xx

Awwww I love this idea!

My proud moment this last week is Alex picking up some signing! :) She can sign Looking, Listening, Waiting/patience, and dog - not all perfect but she does it!

Ok yep we're out the NICU but im not budging

Mines a chunk now but our proud moment this week is rolling!!! Only when it suits him but that's fine :)

Go Jude! 4oz :) and well done Alex too!

My little dude had his 1 year check today and they are really happy with him and he is 19lb 1oz!!

lol, in or out the NICU doesn't matter AtomicPink; our babies are still extra special. LOVE all the exciting milestones!!! well done to all our clever babies!

My little Solomon came of oxygen completely today and doing awesome! No desats or bradys so far :) Next goal is to get this whole breastfeeding thing figured out ;) and hopefully get going home soon!

I LOVE this thread!!

Well done to all our little ones!

My brag is the Indya has finally started to do hand to mouth with food. I'm literally bursting with pride:haha: She's only really interested in sandwichs and can't hold anyhting slippy but we are getting there.

Even better is that it's her birthday next week and I think she'll be able to eat a bit of birthday cake on her own! :happydance:

DD will have been out of the hospital for a whole week as of tonight! And she can now hold her head steady when held upright.

My baby came home from the nicu 2 months ago. He is 6 weeks adjusted and 3 months actual. He had recently started "talking" and searching for us. He would follow me with his eyes when my dh is holding him.

Yesterday Holly moved up to the 3-5 year class of tumble tots and parents don't go in the room with them. I was really worried about her as she could be clingy sometimes in the 2-3 one. At the end they said she was great and she said to me "mummy you can't come in anymore you wait outside". She was about shoulder height to all the children but it didnt phase her at all.

My little guy has hit 4lbs 9oz, and has more than doubled his birthweight :D

Stally that is fab!!

Yesterday marked 1 year since my little dude was discharged home from the scbu <3

Buttonnose82,

I was wondering if your little guy has caught up in weight or does he still look small compared to the other kids his actual age? The doctor told me that usually after they hit one year, you cant tell a difference.

He was 19lb at his 1 year check, so for his age he is smaller than average but still within normal, but to look at him you wouldn't look and think 'he was a preemie', he is trying to pull up now and trying to stand which isn't too far behind the age his older brother was and he was full term. I'll get a photo of him tomorrow and pop up so you can see :)

Few days ago, I was in a rotten mood really hormonal and Michael turns around stares me in teh eyes and says "Ama" thats what he calls me short for my name Amanda anyways i answer him Yes Michael he runs up to me and gives me a big hug and kiss, really made my day that my little guy can feed of my energy and bring my spirits up.

This is a great thread. Lydia started babbling in the past few days. Shes deaf and only had her hearing aids 5 months. She's been able to understand lots of words for a while but only saying vowel sounds and mmmmmm. It was brilliant to hear her say mamamama for the first time I can't wait for it to become a proper word

Agiboma that's cute! bless him!

and Chariiej101; that must be amazing! clever Lydia!

Jude has gained a weensy bit more; he's 8lb 3oz and 4 months on Friday :cloud9: he's following the 2nd centile which is just fine by me

xx

Congrats to all the mamas whose babies made progress! It is very stressful having a preemie. My son was sleeping soundly the other day and my husband got scared and woke him up.

Another proud moment for me was yesterday I weighed my son and he weighs 11.4 lbs and I thought he must not be getting enough because my breasts are always full.

Buttonnose82, would love to see a pic of your baby!

I bought these alphabet cards to help Michael with his speech and language we have been working ont he first 4 letters of the alphabet for about 3 days now, well he finally said the words, apple, bee and car so proud of him

Yesterday my girl did 2 full breast feeds no top up required in the SCBU! i was so thrilled with myself!
