I'm so happy! Me and Savannah finally had our bonding breastfeed.
I had her two days ago, on monday, and she has not breastfed at all until this morning. She was not latching on properly, and even with the help of my mum who's a lactation consultant she still wasn't getting it. But mum called another LC this morning and she came straight over and managed to get her on properly. She fed for 10mins
Then we had a bath together today (the best thing to do IMO, I loved being in the bath together) and she fed again in the bath. It was the best feeling ever.
Now the next obstacle is getting her to feedoff my other nipple, as it's flat. But i'm just going to wait until she's a bit better on my good nipple before I stress her too much bout the other side.
It's such a great feeling. I'm just glad we didn't give up and give her a bottle or formula, I was expressing and giving her my milk through a syringe so she wasn't getting the wrong suck.
