My husband is allergic to shellfish does this mean I should not eat shellfish while pregnant? I know while breastfeeding its a big no but what about during pregnancy?

I called my midwife but have not herd back and would really like to eat some shrimp at dinner tonight but I don't want to risk hurting my baby at all.

I totally understand where you are coming from. My husband has a peanut allergy and I was concerned about the same thing. With my first pregnancy I asked and my dr said it was fine to eat. When he was out of town I decided to eat some peanut butter bc in my head I felt like maybe it was good to have the baby exposed to it from me early on. Immediately after doing that I was panicking but my little one is now a year old! We still haven't given him peanut butter outside the womb though!

My midwife still hasn't gotten back to me! So I didn't have shellfish last night :growlmad:

My first son is almost two and we haven't gave him any shellfish yet either because I'm just too scared. I don't even keep it in the house.
