She's doing weird things when latched on.

Olivia has been really unsettled over the past 2 days. Shes been feeding more regularly, which i put down to the 6 week growth spurt starting, and im fine with that.

Quite often when shes on the boob, and also occasionally when shes off it, she makes this face and opens and closes her mouth as if it doesn't taste nice sort of...

She has also been making this like throaty grunty sound when on the boob, and presses her face really far into me.

When off thw boob, she will make these little cough cough noises regularly as well, and often sounds like shes gulping - as if she is swallowing something, but there is nothing to swallow. Also, more than ever she has been chomping on whatever is near her...her hands, clothes, head hugger, carseat straps.....and dribbling quite a lot too...

How much of this is nortmal? Am i being worrier for no reason?

i'm no expert, only been doing this for a few weeks lol, but my little girl does the growling and pushing her face into my boob thing, i think she does it when she has got a bit of wind, but doesnt want to stop feeding to burp lol

Sebastian does the faces and grunting when he needs to burp. He also tries to suck/chew everything, dribble and blow bubbles...will be watching the advice for this thread closely!

Joshua does the grunting and face pulling to, usually when he has wind
he chews on everything he can, when I dress him he tries to suck on his vest lol

Isobel used to do this.. the grunting... think it was a pleasure grunt!!! Her foot used to always on the go when I used to feed her... just think they enjoy it

Hun sounds like wind....persist with winding her before putting her back on. I didn't cotton on to this problem till I was breastfeeding my 3rd child

I'm not sure, but James used to do that gulping and swallowing when off the boob when he had I cold, I thought it was because he was a bit snotty and he was swallowing it, grose. he does that shoving his head into my boob to, i thought it was because he was trying to make it come out faster looks like hes gonna suffocate himself in my boob. he also clamps my nipple in between his gum and pulls his head backwards.

Have you checked for thrush? Joe has this at the moment, and is acting exactly the same (except he is FF) x

Oooh, thanks for all the replies! I think the problem is definitely wind - I've been really really winding her today and used to think that the first two burps were it....but actually there is a lot more in there that takes a bit more encouragement to get out. She has also done about 5 really REALLY loud and long farts today...and looked utterly shocked and disgusted at herself afterwards! Maybe it's cos shes been feeding more than usual, so theres more chance for wind to get into her. Why didn't I just realise this myself:
