Since finding out this baby is a girl we have struggled with finding a name. We found Shiloh about 20 weeks in and it was the first name we both really liked and we really like the meaning and origin, however there have been family opinions and other things that have made us think twice about it. My husband's main complaint is he doesn't think there are any nicknames that go with it and he likes to call our other children by fun endearing nicknames.

So I have always liked Aubrey but he had never been too keen on it but all of a sudden yesterday I brought up Aubrielle (again) and he's in love with it. I'm just not sure because I want to call her Aubri and he wants to call her Ellie so the name is a compromise of sorts but is that weird if we call her two different nicknames?

Also I'm still open to suggestions if anyone has them.

Sorry this got long! Thanks for reading!

I LOVE both names - I have had them both on my list at one time or another. Actually, I considered Aubriella/nn. Aubrey but preferred Abriella/nn. Abby. I think it's ok to have 2 nicknames. Maybe you and most ppl will call her Aubrey but daddy's special name for her is Ellie. Lots of dad's have their own affectionate name for their little girls.

I think even with Shiloh, your OH will find a nickname for her. Nicknames sort of manifest themselves. I have seen some nicknames that could have never been "predicted" but they just sort of happened naturally on their own.

Shiloh would automatically be shortened to Shi I would have thought, which is quite sweet. Just immediately makes me think of Brad and Angelina now though :)

Aubrielle is a gorgeous name. There would be no problem in you both calling her different nicknames however I think in reality you wouldn't, and one of you would end up calling her the other one, whichever sticks. I would push for Aubri it's lovely!

nicknames dont actually have to be anything to do with the name. me and my sisters all had silly nicknames which had no relation to our actual names x

I like both, but I'd choose Shiloh as it is less common. I think Lola would be a cute nn.

I like both. Shiloh made me think of nicknames like "Shy-Bear" and "Mini McShy" (I dunno how I came up with those LOL)

I really like the name Shiloh :) nicknames that spring to mind are Lo-lo and Lola :)

I like both. Shiloh isn't too common either and a pretty name :)
