Short cervix??

Hello ladies

Here's my story. I got my 20 weeks scan this morning, and everything looked great. As i was reading my report, I noticed that my cervical length is 30mm. I'm seeing my doc in a week, but of course, I googled it and it looks like 30mm is too short for 20 weeks. So now I'm freaking out!! I will defenitely bring it up to my doctor next week, but wanted a bit of advice and experience from you ladies.

Hi Melfy! I believe 30 mm is still pretty safe. My doctor wasn't worried about a cervix unless it was below 25 mm. I would definitely talk to your doctor to ease your worries though, but for now, do not stress too much. I myself, was down to 1 mm!! Then after strict bed rest I was back up to 7-8 mm. I hope you get some good news at your next appointment.

At my 20 week u/s with my DD, I was 3cm. OB told me short end of normal. If course I googled it and freaked out. I had no problems with that pregnancy. I did start effacing and dilating early. By 35 weeks I was 100% effaced and 2cm dilated. DD naturally induced at 39+5.
