Should I be worried?

Hi ladies.

I'm really worried. I'm 16 weeks exactly and all day today I have been having mild cramps in my lower abdomen and lower back. I am also feeling 'sore' in my lower uterus area if that makes any sense. In addition I'm feeling an uncomfortable pulling sensation in my lower uterus as well. I'm really freaking out and wondering whether this is normal all not.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated x

I'd call your doctor or midwife to be safe, but I do think mild cramping is normal while the baby stretches in your womb. At this stage, the baby is moving around, and that can cause some strange sensations. But if the cramps continue for a long time, I would call your doctor and describe what you're feeling and have her check the heartbeat if she can squeeze you in for just a quick checkup.

Around 15 weeks, I suddenly felt a series of cramps on the right side of my abdomen. Luckily I had a doctor's appointment a day later and asked her about this. She felt my stomach and said "the baby is all curled up on the right-hand side." The cramps were probably the little guy moving over there and getting comfortable. His heartbeat was fine.

Thanks so much for the reply. My Dr's and midwife shut up shop now for the weekend so my in,y option is A&E so wanted to get some advice from you ladies before talking that major step. I hate to waste doctors time if it's something that seems quite normal. I'll see how it goes over the next few hours. Thanks again.

Sounds pretty normal Hun but obviously if it gets agonising (I'm sure it won't!) then go to A&E xx

Thanks very much for your answers. It seems to have eased a bit at the moment so hoping it passes x

Sounds normal! Try taking Natural Calm- a magnesium supplement. I don't cramp at all when I am good on my magnesium.

Are you drinking enough water? Sometimes dehydration can lead to cramping...
