I have a friend who has a 5 yo Autistic child. Friend asked about resources on Autism such as where to get therapy for reasonable prices, etc. However when I do suggest a few places, friend will just say OK but not act on it. Of course many of these sessions require the parent to be involved and send time. Friend says no time and no money. Well, the places I've suggests are mostly sponsored and require little money.
So anyways friend now tells me that a religious head has advice that the child only needs blessings and mingle more with other children and she will be normal.
I feel I'm wasting my time trying to help get therapy for the child when the parent prefers methods where effort is not needed. I feel bad because the child could be progressing so much more.
should I just back off and no longer give advice when my friend asks as usual?
