Any advice would be appreciated ladies.

I split from my sons dad last year September and In December he started paying me child support but not through the CSA, just privately. He give's me £50 a month. He say's this is all he can afford but I don't personally believe him and his son costs more than £50 a month to feed and clothe.

He works from home with his own media business and get's £300 - £400 a month and working tax credit weekly on top of that, he also gets housing benefit. Is his £50 a month fair do you think?

Should I take him to the CSA? I know the minute I do it he is going to flip. He doesn't see his son, or should I say hasn't seen his son since September and hasn't even asked to visit.

You may find you get less or about the same if you go to the CSA as they will take 15% of his wage. I'm unsure about whether they include tax credits in their calculations. So it's up to you if you think you could get more then go for it, but I would look into it more first before you make a decision. Hope you get sorted :-) x

If he only brings home up to £400 a month, so say 100 a week over a 4 week period, your only be entitled to £5 a week by the csa ..

so thast £20 pound a month or there abouts you will get so your be getting less then what you are now...

His income support + housing benefit wont be taken into consideration when they calcalate it for you ..

If he's paying the £50 a month reguraly personally I wouldnt rock the boat!

if you wana try get more you could go through CSA but maybe if you work out what your sons living needs costs a month and ask him can he pay so much if comes more then 50 quid wud be better.
