Jacob has been on cow and gate formula since birth but last few days he has developed really bad colic and we can hardly get any wind up at all, I have been using infacol and gripe water but it's not really doing much to help him, we've hardly had a wink of sleep since Sunday and he's been really bad all day today too. I haven't even been able to get dressed all day as I couldn't put him down. we both fell asleep on the sofa with him on me and that scared me when I woke up. I was just wondering if maybe the formula he's on isn't helping and would it be worth trying him on cow and gate comfort or a different brand completely?

We have a colicky baby and use colief, and dr brown bottles. The bottles are amazing she either doesnt get any wind at all or if she does it comes up straight away! She is on the aptimal easy digest, as it has less lactose, so it may be worth giving the comfort cow and gate a go

we use colief as well.. its brill! HV has told me to try comfort milk though no idea what it is! what milk are you using?

I use, and swear by, Comfort Cow and Gate. Its amazing for my baby who was so colicky that I couldn't do ANYTHING in the day :|

I use cow and gate complete and mam ultivent anti colic bottles at the minute so I thought trying the comfort would be easier on him and less stressful than changing brand completely. Think I'll buy some tomorrow and give it a go.

Like Scally I use the Dr Browns bottles as well and think they're amazing, Brady has been so much better since I switched and has slept a lot better as well.

well he's had his first feed on the comfort milk but I know it will take a while before we see a difference if any. I'm contemplating trying the Dr Browns bottles now but I don't know as I've heard a few people say they didn't make a difference but as many say they're fab, it's so hard and I just feel so exhausted as he just cries constantly and I can't comfort him at all, I've tried infacol (rubbish) and gripe water seems to be giving him very watery poos

theres not a lot of difference in how the dr brown & ultivent bottles work, so hopefully the combo of comfort & mam bottles will help him a bit!

guess I'll just stick with the mam ones then or we'll never know what's helping if we keep changing, it's just so tiring, hubby came in from work and his head was busting after trying to settle him for a couple of hours but he'd been unsettled since about 3 today and we've only just got him to bed though he is grumbling a bit from time to time, I know everyone says colic passes but at 3 or 4 months - thin I'll have gone mental if it lasts that long!

have you tried colief? there really good and worth a try? cause u can get them on prescription if they work x
