Ds2 has always seemed to struggle with wind i tried dentinox which didnt work so stopped that then he got really bad.... you can get wind out of him quite easy but he still wiggles and strains in pain with it especially on a night. It got really bad and he was screaming in pain and farting all day (i literally mean all day) so i tried colief. He's been on this for almost 2 weeks and it has helped he's not half as windy but he still strains for a while on a night after a feed and the last day or so have seemed slightly worse and seems to be getting alittle more windy.

Would comfort help, do you think? He's also a hungry baby, but i dont know if he's drinking to try comfort himself (actully making it worse).

Any advise welcome..... it's just awful seeing him struggling with it.

It won't do any harm to try, just try not to swap and change milk too much as his little tummy needs to get used to it. What bottles do you have? The doctor brown ones are really good for windy/colicky babies x

hey hun, Im not sure if the wind is down to the formula? My little one was very very windy on aptaimil, always squirming in pain even after winding, and trumping all the time, we ended up just calling him trumpet bum..my mum suggested changing to cow and gate, which we did and he hardly ever trumps at all now, he still trumps but just the odd one now and again! :)

What formula is he on?

Its awful seeing them in pain from the wind isn't it :(

I agree with annabel, we tried aptamil (made him
constantly sick), sma staydown (made him constipated), comfort milk (didn't poo for 6 days straight, screaming in pain actually made the problem worse).... Then we tried cow n gate as a last resort,.... Been a dream ever since, still got reflux n sicky but only th odd time. Best formula IMO xx

Switching Aliyah over to comfort milk and changing her bottles to Dr Browns was one of the best thing's i have done. Aptamil comfort is what i use and from her 1st feed she had so much less wind and wasn't in any discomfort..From the above posts it doesn't seem as though Aptamil is a favorite for them but worked wonders with me.You would have to gamble and try which one you think would suit your LO best x

Same here - comfort was a god send to us - we used cow and gate. \it is thicker so will help with the hunger but remember you will need higher rate flow teets - on dr browns we were never on anything smaller than a 3 and most of the time a 4 or Y cut.

We used comfort up to a year then went to cows milk with no probs.
