Should there always be milk left in the bottle? Ie should you always make extra than your LO drinks usually?
My LO has been leaving milk sometimes or only taking 2oz but then wolfs the next feed down and drained the bottle.

Today she had:
5:45am-7oz drained
11:15am-7oz drained
3:30pm-2oz wasn't interested and just wanted to sleep!
7pm-7oz drained

We only upped her to 7oz bottles last week but it seems generally she'd rather have less bottles and go longer between feeds but then have more at feed time???.....

I was told this but now only make an extra oz an bedtime.

LO is only having 5oz bottles but every three hours. We were making 6oz bottles but sometimes he will only have 3oz and we were wasting loads of milk. He might drain one bottle a day and we make another oz up.

If Jordan drains most bottles for 2 days in a row then I start making bigger bottles.

Right now Jordan has 5 bottles a day and takes between 4-6 oz. If she is only taking around 4-5 oz for most of them in a day she will want a 6th bottle. She just recently started taking this much. She was wanting smaller bottles more often til a few weeks ago.

I try and make sure LO leaves a little bit just so he's not swallowing air (it helps with his wind). If he looks like he wants more I start another bottle, but usually if he does that for a couple of days I make up bigger bottles for him. xx

I cant use this method as no matter how big the bottle is my LO always drains it then overflows moments later!!!!!

this is what we do. If Rhys goes a few days with draining his bottles I start to make bigger bottles. If he goes a few days with leaving over an ounce in his bottles I decrease them (we went from 4 to 5 ounces back to 4, now back to 5 and tonight I made a few 6 ounce bottles )

I have allways put an extra oz in more than whet they take so if they only want a tiny bit more they can and so they don't take in air as it can really upset there tummy.

Thanks
Think I might see how it goes today and maybe up them again. She seems to want to go longer between feeds but eat heartily when it's feed time!
