show me your 7/8/9 week ultrasounds!

Please! I have an ultrasound schedule for 8w1d and I'm anxious what I'll see a gummy bear or blob? so please post your babies 8wk ultrasounds I would appreciate it!

also note if it was abdominal or vaginal thanks!

You won't see an awful lot at 8 weeks but they should be able to see a fetal pole, gestational sac, and most importantly, a heartbeat.

Here's my scan that I had at 7+5 and this was transvaginal. My clinic wouldn't attempt an abdominal ultrasound that early but I know some do x

This was my baby at 7w1d and we saw a heart beat. It was also a trasvaginal scan. I'm not sure at which point they switch to abdominal but I know vaginal is clearer early on. I hope your scan goes well. I'm booking a private scan for next week.

the last one is my 8 week ultrasound with my now 5 year old.. I don't believe you 'don't see much at 8 weeks' at all as you clearly do!

The growth week by week is amazing, as your scans show. You can see the outline of the baby on your 9 week scan but it isn't clear at 7 or 8 weeks, which is what everybody else said. I've had scans at 7 and a half weeks and you can't make the baby out. The OP asked what she could expect to see, which as 7/8 weeks isn't a great deal. We wouldn't want her to expect to see a fully formed baby at her scan and then be disappointed.

These are mine from 7, 8 and 9 weeks. They are all transvaginal. The first scan was at 6w6d, next was at 7w6d and last was 8w6d. I was high risk so had a scan every tuesday, but as you can see from the sticky notes (which is what baby was actually measuring on those dates), baby was ahead every scan.

It also depends on the scanning equipment used also! My hospital have quite rubbish much blurry equipment, and I don't really see much (the 7 week scan above of mine is the only one which is from the NHS, the other 2 are private) which is why they're so clear i'd assume! I loved my 8-9 week scans, they grow so quickly from a little blob to looking like a baby in just a week! its amazing... the most important thing at a 7-8 week scan is seeing the heartbeat and everything being in the right place
