Show us your messy house

Lol great to see I'm not the only one who's house looks like a bombs just gone off! I wish I'd seen this thread before I spent 5 hours yesterday deep cleaning lol I know my house won't be spotless for long though.

Omg the top of the fridge! Mine too! Actually anywhere higher than Micah can reach has now become a dumping ground for all things he shouldn't have that I take off me him throughout the day!

A typical conversation most evenings:
OH: "Where are my shoes"
Me: "On the back of the sofa, Micah was eating them"
OH: "OK thanks, and the remotes?"
Me: "I think the Playstation one is on top of the fridge, not sure about the others, have you checked the top shelves of the bookshelves?"
OH: "Did I get any post?"
Me: "yes.. check the pile of chewed paper on top of the microwave"

Pmsl!!!

What a great thread!!!!!!!!!!!

Its so awesome to know that I am not alone in the mess and clutter.

I love this thread! I can't post pictures from my iPad but my house is EXACTLY the same - I have random piles of clothes everywhere and everything else seems to be in random piles too, tidying seems to be adding to a pile somewhere :/.

I started a little cleaning routine last week but it's not hardcore enough. I also started cleaning a small part of the bathroom after each shower (morning and night) so although my bathroom is nice and clean that's about it! And don't get me started on the kitchen, I need wellies to survive the kitchen floor some days :(. Never mind though, life is tooooooooooo short :).

I'm loving this thread!! I just tidied up as he's napping but ill post a pic later... It goes right back to the mess after nap!

I agree with a pp, I love seeing scattered toys around in the pics!!

It doesn't look so bad in pictures I guess but I am freaking out because all the baby stuff has to go upstairs today. Lily's 3yo cousin that we call "The Destroyer" is coming over, along with ten other people in three hours, also very dusty...and I have to make food yet, clean the bathroom, get lawnchairs out of the shed and other stuff I probably won't have time for. Stuck on the couch nursing L and freaking out. Should have got started yesterday. Ugh.

Holly causing destruction in her bedroom!

And the house was a state last night too after a spot of dog grooming!

Your house looks spotless!

I'm a bit OCD, but my living room always feels messy during the day as LO's toys take up the full room and he's just into everything at the moment. It looks a lot better after he goes to bed and the coffee table gets put back in its place and all the toys go in the cupboard. I'm ridiculously anal about my kitchen being tidy though!

Sigh. Sparrow I LOVE your kitchen. Its like my perfect colour scheme. We moved house about 9 months ago and I am suffering with my rancid 80's retro kitchen!!

Thanks Jessica. I feel your pain. We only moved in here 5 weeks before LO was born and we fitted a new kitchen, but we still have a teal bathroom

My house is generally like kala's....as fast as I tidy or clean willow follows throwing things, removing stuff from cupboards, this week she's eaten her breakfast off the floor twice (dry cereal) after flinging it off her high chair, and I certainly have dishes permanently on the kitchen side....and this is with having a cleaner once a week!

Currently however it's spotless after my parents have spent 48 hours blitzing it AND looking after willow whilst I sat on my big fat hot pregnant behind!

Ours is always a mess hahaha...

Sparrow85, we have the same/very similar kitchens. Only difference being I recently painted mine mint green, when it was previously beige :dohh: regretting it already!

 sounds exactly like our conversations.

I LOVE this thread!! It makes me feel like maybe I am normal and not the worlds messiest mother. DH helped me clean a ton today so it's actually clean for once but I'm sure that will change by tomorrow.

When we moved in our house was (no joke) BLUE. Blue carpet, blue wallpaper, there was blue carpet in the bathroom *gag* and blue tiles in the hall. Moved whilst I was heavily pregnant so spent ageeees painting and changing the flooring but havent yet got round to changing vital parts like kitchen and bathroom!

What is even worse is when we initially looked around the property my husband said "sturdy building, its great isnt it! We can just move in and we don't have to do much"
...............are you kidding me??!!
