My daughter was 6 1/2 weeks prem and isnt the greatest feeder.... On average takes about 20 ozs a day. She is now 14 weeks and weighs 10 lb 9 ozs.

Medication she is currently on is: vitamins, iron, gaviscon and omeprazole which seems to help with the reflux.

For the last few weeks she is sick when she strains for a poo, and is getting constipated. I went to the doc who said to give her some baby juice, which I have about 2 ozs a day. The doc also said as loong as she is putting on weight not to be concerned about the sickness! (Not much help)....

She is still being sick even with juice.... Any help/suggestions please.... x

My LO is the same Hun, the docs are never helpful are thy? I just get the sickness will pass, easy enough when your not constently covered in it lol. My LO can't poo in his nappy now he struggles that much, so when I notice him straining I take his nappy off put it in his potty and hold him above it as if he's on the toilet and he's able to go (even though he's still sick down himself) but least he's able to go, maybe worth a try if your LO is having trouble going. People think I'm mad when I say what I do, but honestly it's the only way he will poo ATM, duno if its gravity or not having a nappy squashed up his bum lol.
As for the sickness maybe go back the docs to see if they suggest anything else? Think that's what I'm going do.

He sounds as if he is worse than Isabelle and you should def go back to the doc, it isn't nice seeing them in pain and being sick!!

Isabelle has her 8 week check (adjusted age) with the doc on Friday so will make sure they do something!

Is your LO on any medication that is causing the constipation?

He's not on any medication but he's on sma stay down milk, it's since he's been on this milk he's having trouble. Tbf the last few days he's not been having too much trouble straining even though I still have 'hold him to have a poo' lol. However the sickness has got worse again, I can't win!
I sware the docs and HV think I exagerate as they never seem to take me seriously and say sickness is normal, it's so frustrating ain't it. Hope at your LO check up you both get sorted!

Since giving her the baby juice she hasn't been as bad, didn't get much help from doc or health visitor but have app with paed's next week.

Isabelle is on Gaviscon to help with the sickness!

Good luck x
