Hey ladies, first timer here!!
I'm wondering what some of the indications are that labor might be coming. I've had really bad hip/pelvic pain for about 3 weeks, mostly on the right side. I'm a med/surg floor nurse, so I'm on my feet working 12-hour shifts. Yesterday I worked my 3rd one in a row, and last night I was exhausted and expected to go home and crash. Instead, sometime between getting put of the car and getting in the shower, my hip suddenly felt SO MUCH BETTER. Still hurt, but I could walk again!! Which is not the direction that sort of thing usually goes I know, but it was really almost like the whole position shifted down there. And I laid down to go to sleep, and all of a sudden I felt this nervous energy and I had to get up and put her clothes in her dresser. I stayed up till midnight working on that, and I haven't stayed up past 9 willingly since I got pregnant. And today I just feel like getting stuff done. I can't tell if she's dropped and I haven't noticed any contractions or anything but this feels like what I would think nesting feels like. I hate cleaning house and after 3 excruciating shifts in the middle of the night I wanted to clean the nursery and put up baby clothes. Weird. Today I went to the store for some odds and ends and found myself picking up hospital bag stuff that I've been putting off and barely thinking about. I'm only 30 weeks, but should I be getting ready?? Is this normal??

It never hurts to get ready early! Nesting can happen all at once or in sudden bursts of energy.
Be thankful your hip gave you a break for awhile. I had horrible sciatica with my first 2 pregnancies and it was almost a daily occurrence many times with me ending up in tears.
Most likely when you are nearing your time you will start to feel a pressure in your pelvis almost as if baby is trying to come out. It used to feel like little stabs of pain in my vagina. This happened on and off for the last 2 weeks of my pregnancies. My 1st was a natural birth and I had a hard time sleeping the night before almost as if I knew she was coming.
My 2nd I was induced for my health. Every pregnancy presents differently. Just take lots of baths and if you have access to a pool go take some pressure off your hips in the coming weeks and enjoy some non stressful exercise.

Maybe she has dropped although it could be abit early for that. It feels achy and heavy eventually. Suddenly you start waddling and want to hold your bump. Plus it does get heavier. I was ok till 34 weeks and theni found things tiring.

I had bursts of energy on random days but i was induced after going over 10 days and i had the start of preclamsia. I had all sorts of cramps and pains and then nothing.

Your bodys perhaps just ready to have a rest now. Its good to be organised though. I had my stuff ready for weeks. I was glad because i was prepared before it was to tiring.

Id ask your midwife though if you are worried as you have another 10-12 weeks to go xx

It sounds like nesting but I nested the whole way through

I reckon baby has turned or engaged. My first did that at 35 weeks. I was in agony in tesco shop and against a wall crying.., called my OH he turned up and miraculously I was fine and could walk again. Felt like a right idiot. Haha these babies eh!!! As ur midwife at ur next check up or call sooner if you are concerned.

Xxxx
