Has anybody elses baby been diagnosed with silent reflux?

My 6 week old has been showing a lot of syptoms of reflux however is never sick. Feeding times are now officially awful, after two ozs of formula he starts screaming like he is in pain, he will bring up his wind with no problems and then when he wants more milk he will take a few gulps and start screaming again, for the next hour he is very unsettled and seems hungry, he manages to take another ounce an hour later and will then settle down until the next feeding time when the cycle happens all over again.

I am seeing the health vistior on thursday to have him weighed and to discuss the problem. I have tried infracol and gripe water and dr brown bottles as i initially thought the problem may have been excess trapped wind however after reading up i think his symptoms are more linked to acid.

Please let me know if you have experienced anything like this and have any ideas for treatment or things that can help? I really hate seeing my little man in pain and hungry!!!

My daughter has reflux and she was given gaviscon at 8 weeks, I put it in every bottle, she's 15 weeks now and she is going to a specialist as they had to give her zantac too a few weeks ago. The meds definately help, she is one happy little bunny now, we still have a sick problem after feeds but we hold her up right for 30 mins of so.

Hiya, my LO was exactly the same as you describe, he was taking 6oz bottles then all of a sudden would only take 2oz before screaming and pushing it away, i would try to wind him and offer him more but again he would scream and it was a really painfull cry! He was ten weeks prem and when he was on the neonatal unit he suffered quie badly from relux so i took him back to the dr and told him he seemed to be suffering from reflux again and he put him back on domperidone (a med which helps keep milk from returning up food pipe) and he is so much better! back to 6oz! my greedy lil boy! i tried all the same things you did, gripe water, infacol, dr browns and nothing helped! would talk to ur hv or dr and good luck! x x x
