This is my first, so I have no idea. Would be interested to see responses. I'm really looking forward to having my baby and being in the hospital, going home will be exciting.
With my 2nd who i breastfed they wanted keep me in 3days because i was breastfeeding. i stayed 2 3days was too much for me and i knew what to do as they showed me.
This time i plan to breastfeed again but unless theres probs i dont see why id have stay in longer for that reason because ive done it before xx
I think the big thing that determines how many days is vaginal or c-section, and then if there are other issues of course you may have to stay longer. Vaginal delivery in the US means they keep you 2 more days if all is normal
I was perfectly fit to leave the hospital the very day that I gave birth, if id been bottle feeding I could have gone. But because I struggled to breast feed I had to stay in for 3 days until we had established it. (even though we hadnt and I went on to formula feed as a result of my poor baby starving for 3 days because I thought he was feeding but he wasnt )
xx
i went in late with both boys and delivered very early a.m so i spent that night and went home the next day, i did not breast feed either of them, but they were both vaginal. think it all depends
I think the difference is UK vs. States. from what I understand the Uk keeps you till breastfeeding is accomplished successfully. In the US it doesn't matter... it depends on type of delivery.
