so i just received an email about this formula and i am thinking about trying it since alexa is now 9 months and isn't really interested in bottles anymore. she's down to maybe 16oz a day...if that, but she does eat 3 meals of table food.

i am thinking that this may be a good transition formula before switching to milk at 12 months.

opinions?

Most people will tell you that so-called "toddler milk" is another evil ploy by the evil formula companies and not worth it.

I just so happen to have a can of Similac Advance and a can of Go and Grow sitting right here.

There are nutritional differences.

Here are some of the ones that are most different:

Advance
protein 2.07g
calcium 78mg
phosphorus 42 mg
iodine 6 mcg

Go and Grow
protein 3.0 g
calcium 195 mg
phosphorus 130mg
iodine 12 mcg

There are other differences as well. I didn't use any type of "toddler formula" with my first son, but we are thinking of it with this one. I aleady have 2 cans of it from when I went on a big "stock up" trip with some coupons some time ago.

But, there is a huge backlash against it for whatever reason; fill in the blank:
"unnecessary", another "evil ploy against women and babies", etc.

i can see how people may perceive it as a ploy when used for a toddler when they are more than capable of drinking cows milk...but as i am thinking of using it instead of regular formula it would actually be cheaper i think and way for my daughter to get more nutrients since she refuses to drink alot of formula.

I agree. I think there are different situtations where it could be beneficial.

Well we used the enfamil version as I had a coupon. Put it in a cup instead of bottle. I felt it helped with nutrients while we were est good diet.
