LO has been on Smilac simce birth, but the only one that didn't cause problems was Alimentum. Even the one for fusiness and gas gave him gas, and it made tons of bubbles even more than the regular one:wacko: that is why I am considering anotherbrandfor when LO has to stop using Alimentum.

I know all formulas have to meet a certain standard, but since Aptamil (here they sell Nutrilon, which is supposed to be the same just different name) contains whey. So I was wondering if this could be better for their digestive systems? Can you tell me about your experience with either brand?

I bought a can of nutrilon yesterday and imo it smells very similar to similac, so if we will switch later (pedratrician wants to keep him on alimentum till he is 8 months old), hopefully he won't reject it.

Not sure about aptamil but with the similac it can take their digestive system a while to settle down on it. Both my kids have been on similac for growth issues and with both it took time to settle down. Around a week for DS but longer for DD (but she has other issues too).

Whenever we changed formula (ie mummy forgot to get the prescription in on time and we had to resort to shop boguht formula to tide us over till the chemist ordered similac in) they same process would occur. It took a while to settle again. It made them both a bit pukey and gave them loose nappies throughout the week then tailed off to normal again.

It might be worth giving it a bit more time before changing again as constantly switching milk wont really give them a chance to get used to any one brand.

Id have a chat with your peadeatrician too about the nutrition side as well as we were given similac due to the high calorie count which wont neccessarily be the same on the other brands. #It really depends on the reason why he has reccomended one brand over another i suppose

Thank you! The problem is is. Ht we have tried every versionmof zsimilac and only Alimentum would go well with him. So his pedeatrician wants him to stay on Alimentum ntil he is 8 months old and after that for him to go on the regular Smilac iseally, but since that didn't go well with him I am considering switchng brands.

Therefore I want to try the Aptamil/Nutrilon since it is so highly recommended and I am hopingmit will go well with my LO also since it contains whey.

Xxx
